Making Hybrids

...Recomposition...
Use 3 materials (this may include your original 'multiples'), create an intriguing structure or object in response to your collages...

...Documenting Your Object In-situ...

Repetition & New Varieties

...Recompositions...
Using photocopies of the previous excercise's drawings, cut them up and arrange them around to produce 3 well-crafted A2 drawings.

Repetition & Variation

...Making Connections...
Using the 'multiples' brought to class, make 3 well crafted maquettes experimenting with different joining techniques.

...Proliferating Connections...
Use carefully crafted drawings to extend your joining systems, produce a full page A3 drawing for each maquette.

...Thinking About Growth...
The drawings made me think of branches and cherry blossoms,so I've decided to go with Sakura Blossoms...

Cultivating Connections

...Super-size Me...
Transforming the same material into 3 very different forms...
  1. The largest possible open/permeable structure
  2. A dense layered structure
  3. A textured/decorative structure

...textured decorative structure...

Emerging Formations

...Sound Drawings...
Autonomous drawing was a great experience in class, unexpected outcomes really pop doing this exercise....

...Becoming Surfaces...
I've chosen 3 qualities for my collages.... Tangled, Splattered, and Fuzzy...

...Becoming Form...
6 maquettes are made from the photocopies of my collages, 2 maquettes for each collage...
